Hisham (Sean) Akkawi, DD
Sean started his profession at a young age. At 14 years old, he was already making crowns and bridges in a dental laboratory, and immediately fell in love with the profession. To him, it wasn’t just making dental prosthetics, it was also art; it was a way of contributing to society and helping other people lead a happy and confident life.
In 1987, he and his family came to Canada to pursue a better life. With all kinds of careers at his disposal in a new country, Sean still followed his passion as a dental technician. At the age of 16, he was already working at a denture clinic, building expertise on how dentures should be constructed. ultimately paving his way as a renowned denturist in Ottawa.
During his later years, Sean decided to move to Alberta to study denturism, where he graduated with honors. In 2009, he established his mobile dental clinic in Ottawa, where he’s been creating beautiful smiles ever since. He is proud of every single denture he makes. He stands behind his work and is never satisfied until the patient is.
Sean is a proud member of the College of Denturists of Ontario and Denturist Association of Canada. He makes sure to have a good relationship with these associations in order to continuously improve the scope of denturism in Ontario. He doesn’t only want to change his clients’ lives, but also everyone else’s. His compassion, drive and passion is not only what makes him a good father to 4 children, but also a great denturist.
